A flexible network of pressure sensors is distributed across the front, sides, and back of the plush toy. When the toy is squeezed, these sensors detect the location, intensity, and pattern of the pressure, instantly converting the touch into electronic signals. A central AI control chip analyzes these signals and matches them to one of over 100 pre-programmed emotional responses. The toy’s round, LED-based eyes then display the corresponding emotion; because different areas and degrees of pressure trigger distinct reactions, every interaction feels responsive, vivid, and delightfully unpredictable.

Because I’m often busy with work, I haven’t had much time to spend with my daughter, so I bought her this little Christmas tree that can change its expressions. Her reaction was even more adorable than I had imagined! When she gave it a gentle squeeze and saw the tree’s expression shift into a surprised wink, she exclaimed with excitement, "Mom, did you see that?!" After that, she kept trying to change the tree’s expressions, earnestly mimicking each cute look. Now, whether she’s drawing, reading, or getting ready for bed, she keeps the little tree by her side—it’s like having a new little companion that can actually respond to her. Even when work keeps me away, this soft, playful interaction offers her both company and joy. It’s like a bit of Christmas magic held right in her hands, giving us one more way to share smiles, express our feelings, and create memories together.
